Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you type a name or a date of birth into a search box on this site, the entry travels straight to the outside provider running that search. The provider handles the request and returns the results. We do not record or keep the terms you type.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we hold on to the message so we can answer it. Those messages stay inside our team, and we do not pass them to anyone outside the organization unless a legal duty requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page here loads, our servers note a few technical details about the visit:
- Which browser you use, along with its version
- The IP address your device was assigned
- Your operating system and device type
- The pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The site that referred you here, when there was one
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files placed on your device. They help us see how visitors move through the site, which pages draw the most traffic, and where readers tend to leave. Analytics services pull that traffic data together for us. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site online, stable, and quick to load
- Passing your search request to the right partner service
- Learning which pages help readers and which need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Showing advertisements that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell databases of warrants or personal warrant information. We publish general guidance about where Baraga County records are held and how to reach the offices that keep them, including the 97th District Court, the 12th Circuit Court and County Clerk, and the Baraga County Sheriff's Office. Michigan keeps most warrant data with the issuing court, and the state's public case search is informational rather than a warrant registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is assembled into consumer reports or files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes here are run by outside companies. Whatever you enter into one of those tools is handled under that company's privacy policy, not this one. Those partners set their own rules for retention and sharing, and we have no control over them. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county pages, Michigan court resources, tribal court pages, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then governs your visit. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across sites in order to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A few categories of information may reach other parties:
- Search partners that process the queries you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government offices when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We follow standard security practices to protect what we collect. No internet service can promise perfect safety, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur, but we take reasonable steps to prevent one.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we will delete it promptly if we learn that a minor has sent us data.
Your Data Rights
Michigan law gives you routes to government records and to records about you. The state's public records law, the Michigan Freedom of Information Act at MCL 15.231 to 15.246, covers written requests to public bodies, and court record access is governed by Michigan Court Rule 8.119. Where this site holds your data, you may also:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
