This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice for anyone. For any of those, contact the issuing court or the Baraga County Sheriff's Office directly.
Need Official Warrant Information?
These are the routes most Baraga County warrant questions take:
- A bench warrant from a missed court date: the court that set the case, which holds the order and controls the recall
- Whether a warrant exists: the issuing court, or the sheriff's office for custody and service routing
- Resolving or clearing a warrant: a licensed Michigan attorney along with the issuing court, by appearance, payment, or motion
- An arrest warrant tied to a charge: the court sets the charge and bond, and a peace officer serves the order
The Baraga County Sheriff's Office is at 940 US Highway 41, L'Anse, MI 49946, and its main office number is (906) 524-6100 Ext. 695. The official page lists the office as open around the clock, with 911 for emergencies. That number is a routing line for custody, jail, and service questions. It is not a warrant confirmation line, and the office does not publish a public warrant list.
The 97th District Court is at 16 N. 3rd Street, L'Anse, MI 49946, and the county court material lists (906) 524-9202 and (906) 524-9201. A state court directory lists a different number, (906) 524-6109, so confirm the current one before you travel. The court handles misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic and municipal infractions, small claims, landlord and tenant matters, and the early stages of felony cases.
The 12th Circuit Court and the County Clerk share the address at 2 S. Main Street, L'Anse, MI 49946, on (906) 524-6100. The clerk maintains the circuit court files, which is where a felony case lives after it is bound over from the district court.
For a village matter, the L'Anse Village Police can be reached at (906) 524-6150 and the Baraga Village Police at (906) 353-7181. Both departments keep local incident records, and both send court cases to the 97th District Court. Tribal cases belong with the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Court at 472 N. Superior Avenue, Baraga, on (906) 353-8124.
To request an existing county record, write to the Baraga County FOIA Coordinator, 2 S. Main Street, L'Anse, MI 49946, and put FOIA in the subject line of any email. The county's written procedure describes the response deadline, the fee rules, and the appeal route, and it does not require a particular form.
